What's Wholesalers in Fashion?

All I know Is that if you want the latest fabrics, you go to the wholesalers, but What is WholeSalers really? Are they nesscary?

wholesalers can be a lot cheaper because they generally carry bulk items, whereas if you go to a place like walmart or somewhere to get your fabric you might pay more and they have limited stock, and often can't order more of the material for you.
