MODern Black Dress - Redesign

Yea, so the original got ruined because I forgot to put it in my portfolio, so I went back and redrew it and tweaked the designs a little bit.
For the first one, I changed it completely, instead of the cut-out bottom I did a solid band design around the hem. I also used black and grey instead of dark grey and light grey because the original looked too flat to me.
The second one didn't change much. I didn't have the gold-yellow paint like I did the colored pencil on the first design, so it got a dark yellow and lighter white-yellow for the stripes instead. I also added another band to the stripes and widened them a bit on accident, though I really like how it came out.
The third one didn't change at all, ecept the fact that I just widened all of the stripes and took away the racer striped down the side of the design.

thank you love, i really appreciate it, and yes, but only one kind of spur of the moment thing when i was into the SCA. But it wasn't all that great, like i told d, my sewing skills suck lol. i have no idea what i am doing

also, another idea for the site d. i notice a few people on here that don't really actually DO fashion design. How about we separate accounts into 2 categories. "Designer, etc" and "Non-designer"
That sounds interesting. Although what do you consider to be a "non-designer"? like the people who do bags/shoes and stuff?
no. they're still designers in their own rights.
I'm talking "Non-Designer" as in enyone who doesn't have designs in their portfolio, or is just a fashion junkie.
If you do it, it would be something chosen during the create account process. Like, you choose one of the following:
Clothing Designer - someone who specializes in clothing (like me)
General Designer - Someone who designs a wide array of things, from accessories and shoes, to clothing
Accessory Designer - Person specializing in bag, jewlery, shoes, etc. Anything other than actual clothing
Non-Designer - Someone who's just a fashion junkie or doesn't have designs in their portfolio after 1 month of membership
Merchant - People here as representatives of stores, have their own store, etc
the list can go on lol
Ahh. you mean those losers who create an account but don't actually do anything ;) Yeah it sounds useful to have people specify what they're here for.
agreed. oh, btw, yes, NOW i am back. The "Smells Fishy" Collection I just added? Go check it out n tell me what you think. It's half way painted IRL so i should be posting the colored collection here in a few days, along with another uncollored colections i just finished last night :D

lol. not quite, but kind of lol. how are you?
Working on some really interesting ideas outside the website! and well some ideas on the website. But yeah, the DesignerBloc mag is really shooting off! I've recruited a bunch of people from my college to join a "fashion magazine club" so now I've created a magazine staff out of nothing! Then like.. we're doing all these things with some retailers in hopes that they will sponsor us xD. But yeah, REALLY miss having you around, we should keep in touch even if you're too busy to pop in occasionally. As for things related to the website, I've got tons of ideas that will make DB more appealing and interesting to people. Here's the ideas we've been working on:
1. Fashion Faux Pas (basically an FML for fashion/clothing related stuff!)
2. "What to Wear" a forum like thing for people to get advice on outfits and clothing for events and stuff. (like you want an opinion on a dress for a first date kind of stuff :P)
3. A "DesignerBlog" (creative... I know.) which will make the current profile place into a more blog setting and let people "blog" about their designs and stuff.
So yeah, those are the ideas spinning around! Tell me what you think of them! andddd what's up with your life and all. How was getting married + etc :D

lol d. haven't gotten married yet, that's NEXT october, but it's going good. Found an amazing dress, and i've got another if this one falls through. custom made by an amazing woman i found on deviantart :D my sewing skills suck, or i'd try it myself lol.
ideas sound great, and congrats on the staff, i'll probably write another article for you later on. As for the mag itself, ever tried doing onthly themes? Most magazines have some sort of collective theme, so maybe something like that focusing in the fashion world? Winter's here, christmas is coming up, etc. you never know :D
