Fashion Fever 4.1

Premise:
FF needs a new look, and a new design for 2010, it wouldn't be fitting if the new journal layout was not Fashion Design Drawing Related. So it is YOU the members that will determine the new journal layout look with your Fashion Drawings as the inspiration. This will also give you a chance to have your art become the mascot for FF.

This is my entry for the Poster Perfect contest for Fashion Fever's first Cycle 4 competition on DA that starts January 29th.

I tried to do something a bit big and crazy to keep with the couture element, but i couldn't get what I wanted to do to work with the steampunk elements I had in mind, so I just simplified everything.

I've also never done two things that I did with this design. The first being coloring it in Paint Shop Pro X, the second being the fact that it's a Steampunk design to begin with. I don't think I did terribly bad with it, but I can deffenently do better with the next design I'm entering, which will come later on.

Aside from the Victorian and Steampunk elements, I also tried to incorporate a few Elizabethan elements, like the collar on the blouse. I didn't think it would go very good at first, but I really like the overall effect it has on the design.

Lastly, their first suggested color pallet was used (Burgundy, crimson, black, grey) But I also added Cream for contrast because the original draft ended up looking too dark without a lighter color to break it up. And I also added light blue for a little extra pop in the gems on the feathers and a few of the buttons.

Anyways, Wish me luck :D hopefully I'll move on to the next round. Those of you interested can also follow cycle four, beginning, officially, in January 2010, at the fashion fever club page on Deviantart, located here:
